    Dr Hugh Shannon will facilitate the program. Hugh lectures at the Faculty of Health - School of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences at Queensland University of Technology.

    Carly Valente is a highly experienced HPE teacher with a passion for health. Carly has previously presented at numerous ACHPER QLD State Conferences. 

    Dr Louise McCuaig currently serves as Head of Pastoral Programs at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. For over 30 years, she has been an educator in Queensland schools and universities. Louise’s research on health literacy and salutogenesis underpinned the development of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Queensland Senior Health Syllabus.

  • Australian Curriculum: HPE Workshop (7-10)

    This online workshop is a professional learning opportunity for teachers in Years 7-10. It will build on the themes from previous workshops, with a focus on the purpose and aims of the curriculum document. The workshop will provide ideas and guidance on unit planning and assessment, using the structure of the curriculum to inform teachers when making decisions about teaching and learning. Interactive tasks will guide participants to further explore flexible approaches to the delivery of rich, integrated learning for students.

  • QLD HPE Week 2022

    HPE Week is a week that celebrates the role of Health & Physical Education in schools and communities. The aim is to promote the importance of HPE in the Australian Curriculum and highlight the importance of HPE to the learning and development of children and young people. In light of the delay to the start of Term 1, in 2022, HPE Week will run from Monday 23 - Friday 27 May. We will have a program of activities to follow or schools are very welcome to develop their own activities.   Registration is free and there are some great prizes to be won.
