  • Australian Curriculum: HPE Workshop (7-10)

    Online Workshop Friday 20 May 2022 (Please note date change to Friday 20 May) Program available here! This online workshop is a professional learning opportunity for teachers in Years 7-10. It will build on the themes from previous workshops, with a focus on the purpose and aims of the curriculum document. The workshop will provide ideas and guidance on unit planning and assessment, using the structure of the curriculum to inform teachers when making decisions about teaching and learning. Interactive tasks will guide participants to further explore flexible approaches to the delivery of rich, integrated learning for students. We are pleased to announce Glenn Amezdroz as our Expert Facilitator for the Workshop. Glenn is an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. He is skilled in mentoring, curriculum consulting and planning, resource development, lecturing, and educational technology. Glenn was previously Principal Education Officer (Physical Education) at the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority. He has served on various QCAA Moderation Panels and Subject and Syllabus Advisory Committees, as District Panellist and District Review Panel Chair.   • QLD HPE Week 2022

    Monday 23 - Friday 27 May HPE Week is a week that celebrates the role of Health & Physical Education in schools and communities. The aim is to promote the importance of HPE in the Australian Curriculum and highlight the importance of HPE to the learning and development of children and young people. In light of the delay to the start of Term 1, in 2022, HPE Week will run from Monday 23 - Friday 27 May. We will have a program of activities to follow or schools are very welcome to develop their own activities. Registration is free and there are some great prizes to be won.   • QLD Secondary HPE Conference 2022

    11 - 12 August, Brisbane At this engaging two-day event, you'll have opportunities to network, access latest pedagogy (and tasty lunches), and participate in continuing education. Whether you are an early career teacher or experienced educator, it's an event you won't want to miss! See below for this year's conference program and session details. There will be a mixture of classroom presentations, workshops and plenary sessions - many delivered by practicing HPE teachers. Continued emphasis will be placed on the new Australian Curriculum Health and Physical Education AC:HPE and Senior Health and Senior Physical Education Syllabuses.   • Primary HPE Specialist Planning Workshop 2022

    Friday 2 September 9am - 3pm Online planning workshop This professional development opportunity is specifically designed for Primary HPE specialists and aims to streamline the demands of teaching Health and Physical Education in primary schools. Teachers will participate in workshops that will assess the schools HPE program and provide guidance on how to make omissions and additions for a more streamlined and functional HPE experience for students. Teachers will also be given the opportunity to moderate assessment items and discuss ways of making judgements on the run.
